The goal of this blog is to explore the process of creating postmodern paintings at that "marvelous and surreal" place -- interstices where Realism and Abstraction meet . . . Two recent oil paintings that are related . . .
These two oil paintings with INI glyphs are related
(left) oil on canvas and (right) oil on panel . . . to create a luminescent quality on the (right) painting, I mixed in a lot of Galkyd and Linseed oil and turpentine. Then I mixed yellow and orange oil paints with gold leaf to create very thick, dimensional INI glyphs that shimmer . . .
